This survey course takes us through the Old and New Testament, as we trace the development of salvation history from the Book of Genesis to the figure of Jesus. Salvation history is the story of God’s marvellous work, since the creation of the world, to make all men and women His children, to form – from the family of mankind – a family of God. He does this through a series of covenants that He makes with key figures at crucial points in the Bible. These covenants serve as the outline for reading the whole Bible.
This series of presentations is based on the 'Genesis to Jesus' course, offered by the St Paul Center for Biblical Theology. This is a valuable resource, and it should be your first destination for further information - after the Bible, of course!
Another very good resource is Scott Hahn's book entitled A Father Who Keeps His Promises: God's Covenant Love in Scripture.
