Coffee Morning in aid of Mary's Meals
Saturday 29 October 2016
Mary’s Meals is an international charity established here in Scotland by Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow. Mary’s Meals sets up school feeding projects in some of the world’s poorest communities where poverty and hunger prevent children from gaining an education. The charity began by feeding 200 children in Malawi in 2002 – today, it feeds over a million children every school day, across four different continents!
Here are some photographs of St Columba's, as we get everything ready for the coffee morning..
A large number of people came along to enjoy the delicious home-baking with a cup of tea or coffee, and "had a go" with our bottle stall and prize raffle. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
A tremendous amount of work went into the preparation of this very successful fundraiser Coffee Morning! In the space of two hours, from 10.00am to 12 noon, we raised over £750.00! Subsequent donations were made, and after further contributions to our cake, bottle, and plant stalls on Sunday morning, the total stood at just over £900.00!! A wonderful achievement - thank you so much!
