7 May 2017: 'Good Shepherd Sunday'
World Day of Prayer for Vocations
Heed the Call!
“I am often asked, especially by young people, why I became a priest. Maybe some of you would like to ask the same question. Let me try briefly to reply. I must begin by saying that it is impossible to explain entirely. For it remains a mystery, even to myself. How does one explain the ways of God? Yet, I know that, at a certain point in my life, I became convinced that Christ was saying to me what he had said to thousands before me: ‘Come, follow me!’ There was a clear sense that what I heard in my heart was no human voice, nor was it just an idea of my own. Christ was calling me to serve him as a priest.”

Are YOU considering a vocation to the Priesthood?
If so, "do not be afraid", as Jesus reminds us.
What can you do? - You can "PARTY"!
- PRAY frequently to Christ; ask Mary for guidance.
- ATTEND Mass and the Sacraments.
- READ & REFLECT on the Gospels.
- TALK to me, your Parish Priest!
- YOU owe it to the Lord: trust in Him!
PARENTS, or members of the family: you can talk about vocations at home; befriend Priests; and pray as a family daily.
PARISHIONERS: you can support the young people in your parish; invite them to consider assisting in different parish ministries; encourage them to discern their vocation in life;
pray that they be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit.
EVERYONE: you can strive to be role models of the universal call to holiness, and always be ready to "make disciples"!
REMEMBER: EACH AND EVERY ONE OF US IS A PROMOTER
